About the job
The section for protection and security within the port and maritime organization works to achieve transport policy goals and contributes to a competitive, environmentally friendly, and safe transport system. We are responsible for regulatory development, permit assessment, and supervision in several areas, primarily maritime and port security.
As a maritime and port security inspector, you will enter an exciting phase where you become part of a rapidly growing group of dedicated employees who are building new! You contribute to creating and improving working methods that deliver value for both the Swedish Transport Agency and society at large. You will
- be both guiding and supportive in the permit and supervision work for maritime and port security. This includes document review and visits to operations
- participate in regulatory development work
- plan and conduct internal and external training and information activities
- collaborate on a national level with other authorities, interest organizations, and the industry
- cooperate with other countries on maritime and port security issues
- together with your colleagues, develop new working methods and new methodologies for port security.
Business trips with overnight stays are included in the work, primarily within Sweden.
You must have
- a post-secondary education focused on protection, security, or maritime studies, or another post-secondary education combined with several years of experience in the protection or security field
- current work experience in investigation and analysis work, e.g., risk and vulnerability analysis
- very good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
- good ability to express yourself in spoken and written English
- driver's license B.
It is meritorious if you also have
- experience in permit and supervision work
- experience in maritime and port security work, e.g., as CSO, PFSO, PSO, or SSO
- professional experience from organizations within the maritime sector
- experience in public administration
- experience with frameworks and methodologies for governance and follow-up of systematic protection and security work.

The employment is permanent with placement in Gothenburg.
Appointment by agreement. We normally apply a probationary period.
As an employee with us, there is an opportunity to work remotely up to three days a week. The needs of the operations and the nature of the tasks will determine if and to what extent this is possible.
The position is security classified, which means that you must be a Swedish citizen and that a security review will precede the decision on employment.

About the Swedish Transport Agency
Number of employees: Approximately 2000.
Areas of operation: The Swedish Transport Agency works to achieve good accessibility, high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly transport within rail, aviation, maritime, and road. We develop regulations, grant permits, and monitor compliance. With the help of our registers, we work with fees, permits, and ownership changes.
Locations: We have employees in 12 locations across the country. The largest part of the operations is in Borlänge, Norrköping, and Örebro.

About the Maritime and Aviation Department
The Maritime and Aviation Department contributes to a competitive, environmentally friendly, and safe transport system. We do this by maintaining registers, formulating regulations, assessing and granting permits, and exercising supervision. We also operate in many contexts on the international stage.
We are located in Norrköping, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Stockholm and have about 300 employees organized into six units and a staff unit.
